BLOCK53 grew out of the the architecture and engineering fields to form a development practice that pursues responsible project management and aggressive owner’s representation. We know design. We know construction.

 

George Kousoulas has over three decades of experience in the architecture, construction, and development fields. As an architect he has played key roles in the successful completion of major projects including the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and Brickell World Plaza in Miami. Mr. Kousoulas was previously a Principal in the Washington, D.C. office of the global architecture firm RTKL.

In 2006, Mr. Kousoulas extended his practice to Miami to work alongside construction icon Gene McGovern on Brickell Financial Centre II. Subsequently, he formed BLOCK53 to bring his decades of experience to the development of high quality projects in prime urban locations. Since its inception in 2009, BLOCK53 has maintained a standard of excellence that has been well-regarded both within and outside of the development community. The recently completed Lincoln East Garage was featured in The Wall Street Journal as one of Miami Beach’s pace-setting parking and retail projects. Other projects include new properties for Vintro Hotels and luxury condominiums throughout South Florida.

Mr. Kousoulas maintains a deep reservoir of knowledge pertaining to architecture and construction. Through the many large-scale projects he has completed, he has developed focused expertise in foundation systems, superstructure, curtain wall systems, precast concrete enclosures, millwork, stone and systems coordination.
